Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, age 21, allegedly killed 10 people in Boulder, Colorado, is being held in a correctional facility outside the county following safety concerns and threats, according to Fox News.

Alissa is being held without bond.

“Sir, do you understand those rights as I’ve explained them to you this morning? I need you to answer out loud, please,” said Judge Thomas Mulvahill.

“Yes,” Alissa said quietly.

Alissa faces 10 counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Prosecutors stated that “additional charges” would be filed in the weeks ahead.

Defense attorneys requested evidence and a witness list from the prosecutors.

Defense attorneys also requested a three-month trial delay so they could look into “Mr. Alissa’s mental illness.”
